Prometric exam day for medtechs: eligibility codes, check-in and a clock that starts early

Prometric exam day for medtechs, from the authorities' own documents: eligibility IDs and codes, booking, arrival, the clock, breaks and where results appear.

Prometric exam day starts well before you sit down. For most Gulf lab exams, the real work is the eligibility step that lets you book, then the booking, then an arrival plan. This post covers the parts that authorities' own documents state, and says "check" for the rest.

We stay with what is sourced. We give no fees, and we make no claims about test centre rules the documents do not mention. Follow your appointment confirmation for everything this post does not cover.

What must happen before you can book?

You can book only after the authority clears an eligibility step, and each authority names it differently. DHA gives you an Eligibility ID after you create a Sheryan account and copy your DHA Unique ID. NHRA Bahrain asks you to complete the online licence application first. On approval you receive an eligibility code to register with Prometric.

Qatar's DHP says booking is through its online booking page at prometric.com. The page gives no separate eligibility-code process, so follow your DHP application.

Plan around this step because it can move your date. A study plan that assumes a seat in six weeks fails if the file takes longer. Start your licensing file before you start your final review block, and use our exam-day timeline in the last-month guide to line the two up.

How does booking the seat work?

Booking is online, and the route depends on the authority. For DHA, you book at prometric.com/DHA with your Sheryan Eligibility ID, as DHA's professional assessment manual sets out.

For Bahrain, NHRA's licensure exams page says you register with Prometric using the code you receive. For Qatar, DHP's qualifying exam page points to online booking and names a Doha centre at Al Emadi Business Center, C Ring Road.

Authority Eligibility step Booking Result
DHA (Dubai) Sheryan account, DHA Unique ID, Eligibility ID prometric.com/DHA Pass or Fail in Sheryan; score not shared
NHRA (Bahrain) Online licence application, then an eligibility code on approval Register with Prometric using the code Check with NHRA
DHP (Qatar) Check with DHP Online booking page at prometric.com Check with DHP
SCFHS (Saudi) Check with SCFHS The test provider SCFHS assigns Check with SCFHS

Appointment availability is not something any document promises. DHA's manual says there is no set gap between assessment dates, subject to availability.

How does document verification fit in?

Document verification is a part of many licensing files, but we cannot name a required provider for any authority. A licensing file may involve checking your documents at their source, such as a school, a regulator or an employer. Your authority's portal says how, and which provider if any.

No document in our sources says that a particular verification provider is required. So do not pay a third party because a website says an authority demands it. Read your authority's own instructions first.

What we can say is practical. Collect your PRC licence details, school records and work certificates early, because these items are slow and exam dates are not. Keep scans in one folder and make sure the names match everywhere, since a mismatch is the problem that costs weeks. The in-app application guide is there for the product's own pointers, but treat the authority's portal as the authority.

What should your Prometric exam day plan look like?

A good Prometric exam day plan works backwards from the arrival time your authority gives. For DHA that is 30 minutes before the appointment, so work out your travel, add a margin, and decide the night before what time you leave.

Keep the plan small and sourced. The one document rule we can cite is DHA's passport rule. Everything else comes from your appointment confirmation.

When What to settle
A month out Name on passport matches the name in your authority account
A week out Travel route to the centre, and your appointment confirmation saved
The night before Leave time set; no new topics, only light review
The morning Arrive early; expect registration and the introduction before the exam content

The last row matters most for DHA, where those steps come out of your 3 hours. Our guide to the last 30 days covers the study side of the same calendar.

What should you do when arriving and checking in?

For DHA, arrive 30 minutes early and bring a passport whose name matches the name on your Sheryan account. Both rules come from DHA's manual. If your passport and Sheryan spellings differ, fix the mismatch weeks before the exam.

Beyond that passport rule, no document in our sources lists what else to bring or what the centre allows. Follow your appointment confirmation. Do not rely on a bring-list from a forum, because centre and authority rules differ.

TerumoEdge offers an optional check-in rehearsal before a timed session: connect, a system check, ID capture, an agreement and tutorial screens. It is our product's own rehearsal and does not copy any authority's or test centre's procedure. It helps you practise the steady mindset of a long morning. We publish it, so weigh this accordingly.

What happens inside the session, with the clock and breaks?

DHA's 3 hours include registration, the process introduction and the exam content, so your answering time is shorter than 180 minutes. DHA's assessment guideline says so directly. DHA does not state how long the front end takes.

The SCFHS Specialist exam differs. The SLLE gives 120 minutes for each of two parts, with a 30-minute break between, as set out in the SLLE guideline. That is the only break we can source for any paper.

For Qatar's 150 MCQs in 3 hours, DHP's page does not mention a break. For the others, check with the authority. Our time management guide gives checkpoints. For practice, the free 40-item demo is unscored, and the Full Mock can be set to 120 minutes to rehearse 72 seconds an item.

What if your name or documents do not match?

A name mismatch is the most avoidable problem on exam day. DHA's manual requires the passport name to match the Sheryan name, so check both well before the appointment. If they differ, ask DHA how to correct the account instead of hoping the centre will overlook it.

Our sources do not say what a centre does with a mismatch, so we will not describe it. The safe reading is that a mismatch can cost you the appointment, and DHA's manual treats the rule as a requirement. Fix it early, keep the evidence and bring the same passport you used.

The same habit helps with other authorities. Use one spelling of your name, one date of birth format and one set of document copies across your PRC licence records, your school records and your authority account. Where an authority's portal asks you to confirm details, confirm them carefully and keep a copy.

Where do results appear after the exam?

Results come from the authority, not from the test centre. DHA's manual says the result is issued only by DHA in Sheryan, and DHA's guideline says it is Pass or Fail, with the score not shared. See our DHA exam guide for what to do next.

For NHRA, DHP and SCFHS, the documents we read give no result timing or channel, so check with each authority. We make no claim about how quickly any result arrives.

Do not plan your next move around a rumoured turnaround. If a fail would change your plans, decide in advance how you would use your attempts. Our retake plan covers attempts by authority.

Frequently asked questions

What should I bring to the Prometric exam?

For DHA, bring a passport whose name matches your Sheryan account, as DHA's manual states. For every other authority, our sources give no bring-list, so follow your appointment confirmation from Prometric and your authority.

How early should I arrive?

DHA's manual says to arrive 30 minutes early. Our sources give no arrival time for NHRA, DHP or SCFHS exams, so check your appointment confirmation. Remember that DHA's 3 hours include registration, so a late arrival costs exam time.

Do I need document verification before the exam?

A licensing file may involve verifying your documents at their source, and your authority's portal says how. No document in our sources names a required provider for any authority, so follow the portal's instructions, not a third party's.

When will I get my result?

DHA shows Pass or Fail in your Sheryan account, and the score is not shared. We found no result timing for any authority, so we make no claim. Check with your authority for how and when it informs you.
